Where does your meat come from?

Jack Wood Butchers are proud to support the local countryside. Our meat is sourced from the best local farms (yes, we can trace all of our meat from farm to fork), so when you purchase from us you are also helping to support British agriculture.

I can’t find the cut of meat on your website, what should I do?

If you want to order something that you can’t find on our website, or if you want to discuss which cut is best suited for your recipe, then please email us at orders@jackwoodbutchers.co.uk

What cut do I need for my recipe?

If you are unsure of the cut of meat you require, then please get in touch. We are a traditional Butcher’s Shop, so you can have your cuts prepared exactly as you want them! You can email us at sales@jackwoodbutchers.co.uk

Where do you deliver to?

We deliver throughout the UK, apart from the few areas which are unfortunately unreachable on a 24 hour delivery. Please see our delivery page for more details.

All local orders within the Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire area (see delivery details page for eligible postcodes) are carried out by our own drivers and for the rest, we use APC, our trusted overnight courier.

When will my order arrive?

When you get to the checkout stage you will have the opportunity to choose a suitable day to receive your order.

You can also select to receive your order before 10am, before noon or a standard overnight delivery.

Please see our delivery details page for our delivery schedule.

Will my order arrive fresh?

Yes! We do all we can to ensure that your order arrives in perfect condition. All our meat is vacuum-packed from fresh and dispatched in a specially insulated box with ice packs.

We aim to ensure the box temperature does not exceed 5 degrees over the 24 hour period of delivery and the packaging has been tested for a 48 hour period to ensure we have a failsafe if there is an unavoidable delay in the delivery of your order.

On receiving your order, we advise you unpack your order and place your items in the fridge or freezer as soon as possible. Refrigerate your meat if you’re planning on using it within 3 days. If you want to keep it for longer, we advise that you freeze it. Our meats will keep for up to 6 months in the freezer.

How will my meat be packed?

All your meat will arrive in meal sized vacuum packs, easy to split for the fridge or freezer. This method is clean, easy handling and also ensures prolonged freshness. All meat will arrive fresh, not frozen, and will keep refrigerated for 3 days or frozen for up to 6 months.

What happens if I’m not in when my meat box is delivered?

You can state where you wish for your order to be left in the checkout stages under “Delivery instructions”. If nothing is stated, we ask our courier to leave the package in a safe and cool place and they will inform you on the delivery note. If it helps, we can send the package to your place of work,

The packaging is well sealed and will keep the meat cool and secure until you arrive home.

Can I collect my order?

Yes, you can collect your parcel from our butchers shop. Just let us know when you would like to collect your parcel and we will have it ready for you.
